Amelia Lapeyrouse, LPC, NCC

Amelia is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is also a certified telehealth provider for Louisiana residents. She earned her Masters of Science in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University.

 

As an active member of the Louisiana Counseling Association, Amelia currently serves on the Professional Development committee. She is passionate about staying up to date on evidenced based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused, and person-centered. 

 

Amelia has extensive experience working with children, teens, college students, adults, families, and couples. She provides various mental health services to support her clients struggling with concerns such as anxiety, depression, learning disorders, substance abuse, grief and loss, trauma, family and relationship issues, as well as parent education.

During her tenure at Our Lady of the Lake, Amelia worked on both adult and adolescent inpatient psychiatric units. She primarily worked on the adolescent inpatient unit where she facilitated individual, family, and group therapy with patients aged 13 to 17.

 

At the same time, Amelia began working in a private practice setting in 2017 where she conducted therapy for clients as young as 6 years old through adulthood. 

Having built a reputation within the community, Amelia founded AVL Counseling Services at the beginning of 2023.  She is excited to continue working with her clients to enhance their emotional wellbeing. Amelia currently provides therapy and mental health services to clients in Baton Rouge. She also provides telehealth throughout Louisiana, including but not limited to Hammond, New Orleans, Lafayette, Monroe, Mandeville, and Covington.

Outside of the therapy room, Amelia often finds herself outside, spending time with her husband, Jeremy and their four children. Amelia also loves to bake, read, and explore new places through travel.
